Challenges
For traveling customers worldwide, Scootaround needed a self-checkout kiosk app, a self-checkout web version and guest services app that will help speed up the walkup rental process and provide a touchless experience for its guests.
Scootaround needed a partner to deliver a complete rental mobile app experience, to implement mobility device technology provided by their ’revolutionizing the mobility-as-a-service (MAAS) space’ parent company.
Sigma Solve’s Solution
With its technical experts, Sigma Solve created an elite solution to fulfill the larger organizational goals of Scootaround. Sigma Solve developed a staffless self-checkout process – a Kiosk, where a customer, independently, makes a booking for a device, adding additional items like protection plan, cancellation plan etc, scanning their own ID proof (driving license or passport) and finally making a payment. Sigma Solve delivered a touchless end to end solution wherein the guest can check out a scooter simply by scanning the barcode.
In addition, Sigma Solve carved an app where the consumer not only makes a reservation but operates and controls the mobility device independently. Staffless Pick up and Drop was made possible where the customers scanned the mobility device barcodes from their app for delivery and return.

WHILL integrationFor self activation devices, Scootaround Apps are integrated with WHILL operating and controlling the devices. The App communicates with the mobility devices, tacking its location, battery levels and status.
